Every Flutter Love member is invited and reviewed by a person, but a review is not a guarantee. Please read these tips before you talk to or meet anyone.

FLUTTER LOVE DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENINGS OF ITS MEMBERS.

Our review checks that an application is complete and fits our community. It does not include a criminal background check or identity verification.

Safety tips

People may not be who they say they are

Anyone can misrepresent themselves online, including their name, age, photos, job or intentions. Identity theft and fake profiles happen on every dating service. Take your time getting to know someone.

Be careful when talking to someone new

• Keep conversations in the app until you're comfortable. Be wary of anyone who pushes to move to another app quickly.
• Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or financial information to someone you've met online, whatever the reason. Requests for money are the most common sign of a romance scam.
• Be cautious of someone who avoids a video call, or whose story keeps changing.

Protect your personal information

• Don't share your home or work address, your full name, financial details, or other identifying information with someone you don't know well.
• Think about what your photos reveal, such as your street, car number plate or workplace. The app removes location data from photos you upload, but not what's visible in them.

Meeting in person

• Meet in a busy public place. Never meet at your home or theirs on a first date.
• Tell a friend or family member where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be back.
• Arrange your own transportation to and from the date, so you can leave when you want.
• Stay in control of your drinks and belongings. If you feel uncomfortable, it's fine to leave.

If something goes wrong

If you're in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.

In the app, open your chat with the person and choose Report. You can also unmatch or block them there. A person reviews every report, and the member isn't told who reported them. You can also email support@flutterlove.app.

If you've lost money to a scam, report it to your bank straight away, and to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
